In March 2024, I bought my very first sewing machine — a simple Singer — with the hope of creating a few handmade items to donate to a cause close to my heart. I wasn’t sure if I’d even enjoy sewing… but I fell in love from the very first stitch.
I began with small projects — a jelly roll quilt, fabric hearts for donation — and quickly discovered how much joy this new craft brought me. Over the months, I kept learning (and making plenty of mistakes along the way), watching videos, attending classes, and trying new techniques. By May, I had upgraded to a new machine, and later in the fall, to a larger sewing-and-embroidery machine that opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
What started as a personal creative outlet soon became a true passion. As an Emergency Room Nurse, I originally turned to sewing as a way to find peace, relieve stress, and care for my mental health. It’s been healing for me — and it’s turned into something I’m excited to share with others.
Here at Under My Needle, every item is handmade with care. No two pieces are alike, and each one is crafted to become a keepsake, heirloom, or simply something very cute for you and your family. From quilts and embroidery to custom projects, I take pride in making pieces that are beautiful, personal, and meaningful.
